Formy Books: Branding

Inclusive children’s books

Formy Books, an independent, family-run publisher of inclusive children’s books based in London, required a new brand identity. My approach focused on honoring the founder Ebony’s personal vision and commitment to representation. The design strategically preserved the founder’s son’s original hand-drawn artwork within the final logo and mimicked this authentic quality throughout the identity system. To reflect the founder’s vibrant personality and the brand’s mission, I chose an energetic color palette and selected a humanist sans-serif typeface created by a Black typographer, ensuring the brand’s values of representation were visually integrated across every element.
